Welcome to the Governors' section of the West Borough Primary School website. On behalf of the Governing Body, I'm delighted that you've taken the time to find out more about our proud, values-driven community.
At West Borough our vision is to instil a respect for others and a fascination with the world around us. We nurture life skills within a creative environment, empowering every child to learn, take responsibility, and become an independent citizen. Our five core values - Equality, Responsibility, Respect, Resilience, and Challenge - underpin everything we do, shaping the way we act, learn, and grow together.
Our governors are deeply committed to helping children succeed by championing these values and upholding the welcoming, inclusive spirit that defines West Borough. We work collaboratively with the leadership team to shape the strategic direction of the school, ensuring that:
-
The school's vision, ethos, and values are clear and embedded across all we do
-
Leaders are held accountable for the educational performance of all pupils, fostering equity and opportunity
-
Resources - financial and otherwise - are wisely allocated and monitored to support every child's learning and well-being.
We serve as both supporters and challengers, a "critical friend" to the Headteacher, through attending meetings, reviewing progress data, visiting the school, and ensuring the right systems are in place to nurture all pupils. Together, we strive to maintain the wonderful, caring environment that makes West Borough such as special place to learn and grow.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more about governance at our school, please do not hesitate to get in touch via the school office.
Our Governing Body is supported by Susannah Adams who is the clerk to the governors. She can be contacted via the school office at office@west-borough.kent.sch.uk
